Burke Holla along with his three children Matt, Cameron and Casey travelled down to Geraldton over the Easter weekend to compete in the Limited Sprintcar Meet which was held over two nights. Neil Fancote was pit crew for Burke and as always ensured the car was in prime conditioned and was ready to rumble. With a total of twenty three cars wanting to take out the checkered flag it was certainly a weekend not to be missed.
The first night of racing was the John Steven Memorial and Burke qualified in ninth position for the feature race. Burkes skill and determination saw him fly up into third position but unfortunately could not hold on and spun out trying to move up into second position. He went to the rear of the field for the restart and again worked his way back up to fifth position by the end of the race.
On the second night drivers raced for the Mid West Sprintcar Championship. Burke raced well all night and qualified second for the feature. It didn’t take long for Burke to take pole position and he managed to hold onto the lead for the entire race despite having six restarts due to other drivers spinning out of control. Burke took out the championship, winning by almost half a lap which was a tremendous effort. Burke said he was pleased with the win and was looking forward to the State Title’s held on the Anzac long weekend 25th and 26th April in Geraldton and thought this meet was great practise for the Title. Congratulations Burke Holla!!
Although Carnarvon Speedway Points Meet was cancelled due to the track being under water from the rain, racing commences on the 12th April with the SMOKE FREE WA V8 SUPER SEDAN CLASSIC sponsored by HORIZON POWER.which will an action packed night and not to be missed. So grab the family and head down to the Carnarvon Speedway Club for a fun filled night of racing.
