LYALL WINS CARNARVON CLASSIC If you were one of the few crusty's that missed the action @ Carnarvon Speedway on Saturday night, here's what happened............ Carnarvon's very own, Peter 'Punch On' Lyall run & won the 20 Lap feature of the V8 Super Sedan Classic, in a Rotary!! Lyall who is currently WA3, used the home track advantage & great support from fellow Carnarvonite's to beat the other nine drivers, which included the likes of WA1 & Aust2, Marc Giancola and WA2 & Aust5, Troy Brook. Brook however was not a starter in the feature after suffering extensive front end damage to his Monaro after a spectacular crash into the concrete wall in Turn 2 i his last heat. Second place getter for the night and a very decorated driver, Marc Giancola was gallant in defeat and congratulated Lyall on an excellent drive. Robbie Bawdon from Kalgoorlie defiantly not disgraced, came across the line third, just in front of #12 Rick Mussara also from Kal. We thank ALL of the visiting drivers for travelling to Carnarvon. They all provided edge of your seat action. There was still more action with the supporting races. Glenn Harper's Falcon's engine caught on fire which had to be put out by the Firies, so his night had finished before it had begun. Lance Root's night was unfortunately cut short also, after a bingle with Tom Parry in the Streeties. Paula Lyall had her last hurrah in the trusty Sigma, as she has now purchased Clinton John's Falcon. Daniel Pidala again had four wins from four starts and went home with a straight car. Bonus!! In the Juniors, Michael Todd would of had a story for 'Show & Tell' at school, as he had a roll over, but managed to land on all 4 after. Driver checked by Ambo's and was A-OK. Modifieds driver Kim Jolly found that oil & water really don't mix and parked his car for the night. Near on regulars, the McAuley Bros from Karratha were back, getting in some more track time for the WASCF Modified State Title here next fortnight. Also a gentleman of Speedway, John Purser from Shark Bay was another welcome inclusion to the line up. Local Lad's, Kim Jolly, Shane Brittian & Travis Jackson are all hoping to place in the top three of the 27 competitors that will be here for the Title May 4 & 5. So make sure you get your backside trackside then for a top up of racing action. Catch ya on Clay @ Carnarvon Speedway.
