HORIZON POWER LIGHTS UP CARNARVON
The Carnarvon Speedway Club in conjunction with the SSRC (Super Sedan Racing Club) is pleased to present to you the Smoke Free WA V8 Super Sedan Classic to be held on Saturday 12th April 2008.
Local power station Horizon Power have stepped in and made a considerable donation towards this annual community event. This race meeting is always well supported by the families of Carnarvon and is one race that everyone looks forward to being a part of.
Thanks to Horizon Power the club have contracted 14 drivers from Perth and around the state to compete in their final race meeting for the SSRC series round. Some of WA’s most successful speedway touring group participating will be WA # 1 Rob Bawdon from Kalgoorlie, Troy Brook, Dean Shore and Keith Higgs who all just recently competed at a National level for the title in Mildura. Accompanying these quality drivers will be well travelled Terry Green, Murray Iwanow, The Higgs boys Dustin and Gary, Larson and the nicely presented Monaro of Rick Musarra.
Over the past 8 months the Premium Drilling Super Sedan Series has taken the boys from Newman, Porthedland, Kwinana Motorplex on many a occasion, down to Collie, Margaret River and Albany just to name a few. Last weekend saw the states biggest Super Sedan event held in Kalgoorlie and Esperance for the Super Sedan Hammerdown. DK (Darren) Kane won the night two main event and on a count back of points over the two night’s he was declared the inaugural winner followed by two of Australia’s next big things in Super Sedans Lachlan Onley and Ash Bergmier. Unfortunately for WA no podium finishes this time round.
Junior sedan races will also be a part of the program taking in valuable track time in preparation for the WASCF Smarter than Smoking Junior State Title proudly sponsored by IGA Supermarket. Combined with most drivers within the Street Stock division back on track with a full field of 12 cars, be sure not to miss a piece of the action.
